Significance of Lord Vishnu Yagya

The Jagannath Rath Yatra Day on July 12 is a Vedic holiday that celebrates Lord Krishna, his brother Balarama and sister Subhadra- manifestations of Lord Vishnu. For centuries, the idols of Krishna, Balarama and Subhadra are brought out into the streets on this day in special huge chariots to greet the devotees.
The significance of the day is that the unchanging, absolute level of life enters into the material world and enlivens it. Yagyas are performed on this day to promote 200% of life: inner and outer abundance. The yagya also promotes gaining control of the outer aspect of life and remembering the basis of life.
